If you were to ask those close to me to describe me, they would tell you that I am the most unorganised person they know! I’m ALWAYS cutting it fine for time because I leave everything to the last minute and if I don’t write down all of my appointments, to do lists and outgoings into my organiser, then you can forget it, they won’t happen! Birthdays and special occasions, pffft! I’ll remember the day before if I’m lucky! Cue mad dash to my local newsagent to choose from a tiny, uninspiring range of floral cards that were blatantly designed in the 80’s…
When the opportunity to review the Postsnap App pinged its way into my inbox, I said a silent thank you for reminding me that Fathers Day was coming up VERY SOON. Not only that, I could create my very own greeting card via my phone, which let’s face it, is glued to my hand 99% of the time! I’ve never used an online greetings card service before so I decided to take the plunge and download it.
Postsnap is a free iOS exclusive app. Not just any old card design service… It enables you to turn your photos into real, printed cards, giving it that all important personal touch.
Opening the app, I was instantly drawn to the cute, colourful homepage showing a variety of available products, from greetings card, postcards, invitations and announcements cards. I’m like a magpie, I love pretty shiny things, so this appealed to me massively.
Opting for a greeting card, I was able to narrow my selection down to choose my occasion, in my case Fathers Day. I was surprised by the wide range of available designs, which are created exclusively in-house by the Postsnap team, meaning you won’t find their cards anywhere else. I was also able to choose my colour scheme, edit and move the text to compose my own personalised message and add in my all important photographs, which can be uploaded from my Facebook & Instagram accounts, as well as my device.
Now that my design was complete, I was taken to the ‘Choose address’ screen. Quick and easy, I was able to choose between having the card sent to myself along with a blank envelope, or having it sent to the recipient. You can even store addresses into the Postsnap app ready for future occasions.
Check out, again, was a simple procedure, allowing you to choose your delivery date and payment options. The app even allows you to buy in-app credit, enabling you to plan ahead… The ideal solution if you’re super unorganised like me! The products range from £1.50-£3.00, including postage, so you’re not breaking the bank. And if you think about the savings you make by not having to use petrol to take a trip to the shops, even better! *(Worldwide postage available for a tiny extra cost)
Another massive plus for me is the ‘Birthday & Events Reminders’ tool, sending reminders through to my phone. The only drawback is that you have to input each occasion individually. If you have a large network of family and friends, this can quickly become boring and repetitive, possibly resulting in abondoning the feature. I would be more likely to use the tool if I were able to automatically connect it to my Facebook Birthdays.
Overall, I enjoyed using the app. If you’re looking for a quick, easy way to order your cards, then the Postsnap apps is for you. Even my 4 year old daughter Cici joined in to help design her card! However, I do recommend you complete your card & order in 1 sitting. I’m easily distracted, especially being a single mum… I found I had to restart my card from scratch if I navigated away from the app for too long, there doesn’t seem to be an option to save your design which is a slight annoyance, but the ease of which you can navigate through the app means you can quickly redesign it if lost.
My cards are due to arrive in the next couple of days. I’m looking forward to checking out the quality, which the app promises to be a ‘glossy, good quality finish’. Be sure to check back for an update! In the meantime, why not take advantage of my Special Offer code and get 15% off your own order!
